55-65 year old female who presented with squamous cell carcinoma of the left nose. The patient underwent Mohs excision by the Dermatologist and was left with a large and full thickness hole in the left nostril. This is a challenging case because all layers of the nostril have to be reconstructed and the nose has to be structured to minimize nasal collapse. The patient underwent a staged procedure where tissue from the forehead, inside the nose, and ear cartilage were used to re-build the nose. After three weeks, the flap was divided and adjustments made to the nose to improve symmetry. In the post-operative photos, you can visualize that the left nostril has been reconstructed with improvement in the symmetry of the nose.
